Our Story

The Rev. Kris and Abby Schondelmeyer, met in October of 2011 in Toledo, OH. Their first date was when Abby went to Kris' house to watch the St. Louis Cardinals win the 2011 World Series. Kris says they're the best baseball team ever! But, he is from Sedalia, MO, so he's been a fan for a while. Abby is from Perrysburg, OH, a suburb of Toledo.
Kris and Abby met when they were both serving Presbyterian churches in Toledo. Kris was Associate Pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church, and Abby was an Intern for Children's and Youth Ministry at Fairgreen Presbyterian Church.
Their mutual love for serving the church quickly turned into a mutual love for each other. In May of 2012, Kris played his guitar and sang to Abby, he gave her his very first St. Louis Cardinals jersey, and then he got on one knee and asked her to marry him.
Of course she said yes! And, they were married on December 29, 2012.
After a few difficult years of dealing with personal health concerns and deaths in both of their families, they have weathered the storms of life to make it to this place today. Kris is the Pastor/Head of Staff of the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run, and Abby serves part-time at the church as the Youth Ministry Coordinator. Abby and Kris are madly in love with each other, share a strong faith in our compassionate God, and enjoy being "mom & dad" to Alexander, Karrick and Isaac.
