I was named after my Aunt Alexa and Papa David. Please read about both of them below.

Alexa Noel Wasylkowski

My Aunt Alexa, my mom's baby sister, was 17 when she passed away suddenly on June 30, 2015 while serving on a mission trip to Haiti. She died doing what she loved — serving others as the hands and feet of Christ.
Aunt Alexa loved animals so much that it led her to complete courses to become a veterinary assistant, an accomplishment she was very proud of.
At school, Aunt Alexa was part of the service organization, Key Club, as well as serving as senior class secretary. She was on the bowling and golf teams as well as being an active Girl Scout.
Aunt Alexa enjoyed serving others through the Epworth United Methodist Church Furniture Ministry in Toledo for which she volunteered since the age of 10. She was also a volunteer with ReStore for Habitat for Humanity in Adrian, Mich.
Aunt Alexa enjoyed life and brought a smile to everyone she met. She liked to relax at the family cottage on Clark Lake and enjoyed spending time with the family animals. She enjoyed shopping at garage sales to find bargains to donate to the Furniture Ministry. She was an active member of the Epworth UMC youth group and enjoyed participating in service projects and attending mission trips.
Being with family was a great joy for my Aunt Alexa. She especially cherished her time with her nephew, my cousin Mason, who called her “Lecki.”
My Aunt Alexa was an amazing and beautiful person, and I am so glad to be named after her. She will always be a part of our lives.

My Papa David, my daddy's dad, passed away on November 16, 2007 at the age of 53 after a battle with terminal cancer. He died holding my daddy's hand while listening to the beautiful music of Allison Krauss. His last words were, "I love you," spoken to my daddy.
My Papa David also loved animals like my Aunt Alexa, and at one point he had dogs, and chickens, and horses all on the family farm near Sedalia, MO. He was also a great farmer, growing delicious fruits and veggies that he enjoyed selling at his own farm stand at my great-grandma Ruby's house.
My daddy tells me that Papa David was also a great chef, and he made the most delicious pizza, bacon-wrapped burgers, stuffed peppers, fried morel mushrooms from the family farm, and anything involving deer meat that he hunted himself - deer burgers, deer sloppy joe, deer sausage, deer chili. He also had an award winning chili recipe that was sweet and spicy at the same time.
